Next week is Founder’s Week which honours the memory of our founder, Canon Newham, and 119 years of the English School’s legacy.

Monday 4th November:

  •          Year 1 commemorative assembly led by Mr Lambon, followed by a tree-planting between the Science and Newham buildings. The assembly will take place after registration. Form tutors will accompany their students to the lecture theatre where Year 1 subject teachers will join them to supervise the students. We anticipate that the students will return to their normal classes around 8.20 am.

Thursday 7th November:

  •          Lower School Awards ceremony: in the hall from 5.30-6.45 pm. (Note: there will be a  cocktail in the schoolyard, for all students, staff and  parents,  before this event, 5.00-5.25 pm)
  •          Upper School Awards ceremony: in the hall from 7.30-8.45pm. Our guest of honour will be HE the French Ambassadrice to Cyprus, Mme Isabelle Dumont. A cocktail will follow in the schoolyard at 8.45 pm.

Friday 8th November:

  •          Founder’s Day Games
These will take place during period 6 and will involve students from Years 1-3 only. Years 1-3 subject teachers will take the register at the beginning of their period 6 lesson, and then will accompany their students to the sports area and supervise them appropriately. The junior students who are playing in the matches will be permitted to leave their period 5 classes 30 minutes early, at 12.15,  in order to change and warm-up. A list of students affected will be sent out shortly.
