The teacher-in-charge and the students' committee will be organising in November and December to main activities
On Wednesday, 28th of November 2018, during the assembly and period 1, there will be a presentation about the whole idea of Voluntary Blood Donation in Cyprus and how successful this effort is. This lecture will take place in the School Hall, is addressed to all Year 6 and it will be given in English.
A question-answer session will follow the lecture. Students are urged to express their views, worries and fears – if any – concerning donating blood.
Please keep in mind that Blood Centre’s staff visiting High Schools for information purposes undertakes this responsibility on an entirely voluntary basis. Students are expected to behave themselves and respond accordingly to the challenges of this lecture.
On Friday, 7th of December 2018, the English School will organise the Blood Donation which will take place in the Hall and will start at 8.30 a.m. The duration of this event cannot easily be predicted; this depends on the number of donors and the possible health problems the medical team of the Blood Centre of the Ministry of Health will face.
The benefit of organising the Blood Donation at the School is obvious; it gives the students the opportunity to cover very urgent needs of their teaching programme e.g. tests, practicals, and then participate in this activity.
Colleagues are asked to bear this schedule, on 7th December, in mind when scheduling assessments, tests and class activities. We will try to keep disruption to classes to a minimum; at the same time we fully support students’ participation in this worthy cause.
Staff who wishes to donate blood can come at any time it is convenient and priority will be given to you in order to facilitate your day programme.
