Year 1 Thalassaemia Awareness Assembly 21st March
Year 1 students were treated to a very interesting and informative talk about genetics, screening and information on one of the most critical diseases in Cyprus.
The talk was given by Dr Savvides who is an ES graduate and has been working for 13 years in the field of Thalassaemia, a genetic blood disorder that is common in the Mediterranean region.
We would like to thank Dr Savvides for giving us her time. She is based at Makarios Hospital at the Thalassaemia clinic and we welcome her offer to visit the clinic to see the medical professionals working first hand.
