On Wednesday 7th March we welcomed a Task Force of thirty Israelis to our school who met with our IGCSE Global Perspectives Students to learn about Identity and Diversity and different perspectives regarding peace and conflict.

The Task force was comprised of some very interesting and inspiring individuals who are social leaders in a variety of fields including political activists, religious leaders, educationalists, professors, writers, and more. We began with an excellent presentation from our own students about Cyprus and our school’s history.  We then engaged in a workshop which included ice-breaking activities and opportunities to learn more about each other, our respective nations and identities. Despite our differences and similarities, the greatest unifying factor was the overriding desire for peace in our respective countries and in the world! The students stepped out of their comfort zones and clearly had a lot of fun whilst engaging in deep and meaningful intercultural dialogue and collaboration with a heterogeneous group of people from a neighbouring country.

Well done to all the participants!
