Welcoming all Our Year 1 and Mid-Programme Entry Students!
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was wonderful to welcome all our new students to school last week!
Our new students were eager to start their educational journey at The English School. We welcomed our Mid-programme entry students on Friday, 4th September and our Year 1 students on Monday, 7th September. This marked a significant milestone in the students’ lives, a day in which they joined The English School community.
The Mid-Programme entry students were welcomed by some members of the Senior Leadership Team and their Head of Year. They spent time with their Form Tutors and met a buddy from their class, who joined them for the day’s activities, including a tour of the school and an introduction to the School’s Office 365 system.
Our Year 1 children had a unique Induction Day experience, one in which they met classmates from afar, spent time with their Form Tutors, peers and Head of Year, and were introduced to the School’s Music and PE programmes. Senior student helpers took the children on a tour of the school, sharing important tips wit them, and they enjoyed their break on the grass in front of the beautiful Newham building. The children were given a special gift from the school, a Year 1 Scrapbook in which they will compile their Year 1 memories by adding photos, thoughts, and anecdotes about their school.
We welcome all our new students and wish them a successful start to the school year!
