Come Together Arts Week 2018 - Gala Performance
“The thing the sixties did was to show us the possibilities and the responsibility that we all had. It wasn’t the answer. It just gave us a glimpse of the possibility.” John Lennon
The 1960s were all about change, social awareness and cultural revolution -just as relevant for young people today as it was then, 50 years ago.
The explosion of The Beatles on the American music scene was a phenomenon in itself, and their message of peace and love spread far and wide. Maybe the arts alone cannot change the world, but through music, art and drama we can surely become more informed, empathetic and united.
The opportunity to explore these themes and ideas with classes at school has been wonderfully successful and we can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Long live creativity and long live arts week!
